Jam Games SNES

These games were all made by me for various game jams within a shorter time frame.

POOH GOES FOR A SWIM

The A Game by its Cover game jam is about turning the fictional cartridge art of the My Famicase Exhibition into actual games.

Pooh Goes for a Swim is a roguelike where you play as Pooh, trying to make your way through procedurally generated sewers in order to get to the ocean. On your way you collect coins that can be used for upgrades between levels.

However, Pooh herself has no weapons of her own, so she must rely on using her enemies' weapons against them.

MEMINI

The idea for this jam was to make a game in a genre, but to remove one of the main mechanics of that genre, so I made roguelike card game where you can't look at your cards.

You fight monsters by adding the numbers of the cards you've placed on the table. At the end of each round, you take damage equal to the difference between your number and the monster's HP.

You have to remember the positions of your cards, both for playing cards but also when you after each round get the opportunity to upgrade one of your cards to a higher value.

POST-IT-PEPPIN'

The theme for this jam was "Sticky Justice", so I made a slap-em-up typing game about staying motivated and learning to love yourself.

You play as an office worker trying to make it through your work day, copying motivational messages using your keyboard, while trying to keep motivational post-its from falling off your computer monitor using your mouse.

SOARING EAGLE

In an attempt at creating some emergent gameplay, I tried making the most simplified version of Kerbal Space Program I could think of.

In order to cross the Atlantic Ocean using a rocket and a parachute, you select launch angle, fuel type, fuel amount, as well as your parachute type, and then watch the effects of your choices.

Players can choose how they want to approach the problem - a high-soaring spectacular launch and consequent descent, or a swift low-angle launch.

NEON SLAM

This game is not really made for any particular game jam, but rather as an experiment for myself to see if I could make a full playable game in one day, especially focusing in juice.

The mechanics are borrowed from Pong, but players have one ball each, that sticks to their paddle. They can launch this ball, but they can't move while charging and aiming it.
